Thanks for stopping by and visiting my site! I keep a catalog of all my travel spots and of my big projects here. If you have time, take a look around using the tabs at the top. I just got the wall working so if you have time, try making a post on the wall!

Hey there! If you want to work on an group project together, message me on facebook (Brian Zhou) or email me at brian.zhou@duke.edu - I'll get back to you ASAP. I'm always looking for new projects to work on but if I'm really busy at the time, I might not be free enough to help.
You can find my work using the icons at the right, and can message me/get in direct contact with me through email. Thanks!
Golf
I've played golf for about 10 years now; I used to play a ton and was the captain of my high school team, but I haven't been able to play as much as I've wanted to lately. If you're interested in playing golf and are around Duke, contact me and we can play a round!
I enjoy drawing in my free time! I normally do sketches, and I've attached a few images of my drawings over the years. I also draw most of the artwork for my games, so for some of my personal projects I've drawn small character/projectile sprites (See balloons/water guns in my Java game).
I've played piano for ten years now, thought I haven't been actively playing recently. I mainly do classical music, but I used to play a bit of jazz for my high school Jazz Band. I have more pictures of me when I was younger and playing piano, but they're cringe-worthy so I'll just hold on to them for now.
I've played video games for a long time now, though I haven't been able to play as much recently due to other responsibilities. That being said, I'm still a big League of Legends (New IGN: Zhoudiac) player and in my childhood I played a lot of console games so I'm pretty good with a controller too.
Every year around Christmas time I go skiing with my family and other family friends. I really enjoy it, though I'm not the best at it. If you're wondering, I'm probably around intermediate trail level - god forbid I go on a double black diamond by accident one of these days
Here are all of my big projects! Most of my other small ones or works in progress are at my Github! That being said, there are quite a few projects below so I've created a small table of contents below organized by language/framework!
There are a bunch of images for each project, so use the arrows in each slideshow to view them all!
1. NodeJS - (HackDuke 2016 Project)
2. Java - (Main Programming Language and Project Collection)
3. Android - (MoodTools)
4. HTML/CSS/JS/Jquery - (Summer 2016 Internship Projects)
5. Docker - (Sakai Open Source)
6. Spark/Android/Shell - (Research Topic and Results/Projects)
HTML/CSS/Javascript/NodeJS: Import Support
HackDuke 2016 Entry! Worked on this with a small group (4) and it's an application that allows organizations and individual people to coordinate their efforts in donating to a disaster-stricken area It shows the current status of different districts (% filled Food, Water, and Clothing) as well as needed support to highlight which districts are completely relieved and which still need donations.
Java is the language I primarily program in, I have a bunch of cool projects so I've attached images of all of them below!
1. MicroManage - Dodging game with my own hand-drawn art!
2. Cell Society (Group of 3) - Cell simulation software, has 8 different sims.
3. Cell Society (Group of 3) - Another Simulation!
4. SLogo (Group of 4) - Reinvented a simple version of the language Logo, moves a turtle!
5. Game Authoring Environment (Group of 10) - Game Editor/Game Engine that lets you build your own game!
MoodTools is a project I've been working on with one of my friends for over 2 years now, and it's essentially a mental health and depression aid tool. It allows you to easily access and find support or resources, create a backup plan, and track your improvement over time (mood monitoring). The inital version is out right now, but we're planning on publishing a big new release in a few months; I've attached a few sneak peek screenshots below!
It currently is available on Google Play / Apple Store and has over 600,000 users!
Internship Summer 2016! Most of the details in what I did backend are in my resume, but I've attached images of all of my front-end projects. I made a real-time web photo gallery, drag and drop file transfer mechanism, along with some other web feature add-ons like the gallery header!
I worked with a friend on the Sakai open source project to create a dockerfile that significantly simplified the initial installation procedure. Normally, you have to manually set up and install hundreds of files, while establishing tons of configuration files, but with our docker file/container you can just run it once and let it do all the work for you (without bugs). Also continuously integrated with github so it updates/rebuilds on change.
Spark/Research Project: Server and Mobile Device Prefetching
My current research project here at Duke! I'm working on mobile prefetching, and dynamically allocating memory so that you can boot up your mobile device applications faster.
I've been working on it for two years now and I've attached a poster of my research below. Most of the programs I wrote for my research are on my github if you're interested!
